Carleen DiMeglio, RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Carleen “Carly” is an Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner authorized to practice autonomously in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Carly began practicing psychiatric nursing in 2001, and quickly developed a passion for helping individuals with psychiatric disorders. While practicing in Virginia and later in Boston, Massachusetts, she pursued a graduate degree in psychiatric nursing, which she received in 2005.
By establishing RRP, LLC Carly looks forward to bringing her experience and expertise to the greater Richmond community. She enjoys working with diverse individuals, including all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and approaches each patient uniquely. She believes a person knows their body and lived experience better than anyone else and thus the decision to be on psychotropic medication must be based on a strong partnership between the patient and a provider. Evidence-based care, trauma-informed care, respect, and empathy are guiding principles of Carly’s practice model.
Carly has been prescribing psychopharmacologic treatments to adult individuals (ages 18+) for more than 15 years and has worked in a variety of settings including primary care, community-based care and college health. She has extensive experience treating anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar/mood disorders and ADHD.
Carly developed an expertise and particular fondness for working with young adults while employed at the University of Richmond’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for 10 years. She continues to maintain a part time practice with the Department of Athletics at the University of Richmond. Carly also works with patients at GreenbrookTMS.
In her spare time, Carly enjoys being active with her two children, playing tennis and traveling.
Through River Road Psychiatry, LLC, Carly looks forward to bringing high quality psychiatric services to individuals 18 years and older living in Richmond and across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
