Carleen Dimeglio

Carleen DiMeglio
RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Carleen “Carly” is an Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner authorized to practice autonomously in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Carly began practicing psychiatric nursing in 2001, and quickly developed a passion for helping individuals with psychiatric disorders.  While practicing in Virginia and later in Boston, Massachusetts, she pursued a graduate degree in psychiatric nursing, which she received in 2005.

By establishing RRP,  LLC Carly looks forward to bringing her experience and expertise to the greater Richmond community.  She enjoys working with diverse individuals, including all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and approaches each patient uniquely. She believes a person knows their body and lived experience better than anyone else and thus the decision to be on psychotropic medication must be based on a strong partnership between the patient and a provider.  Evidence-based care, trauma-informed care, respect, and empathy are guiding principles of Carly’s practice model.

Carly has been prescribing psychopharmacologic treatments to adult individuals (ages 18+) for more than 15 years and has worked in a variety of settings including primary care, community-based care and college health.  She has extensive experience treating anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar/mood disorders and ADHD.

Carly developed an expertise and particular fondness for working with young adults while employed at the University of Richmond’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for 10 years. She is currently the Psychiatric provider for the Department of Athletics at the University of Richmond. Carly also works with patients at GreenbrookTMS.

Through River Road Psychiatry, LLC, Carly looks forward to bringing high quality psychiatric services to individuals 18 years and older living in Richmond and across the Commonwealth of Virginia.   Please complete the Intake Questionnaire under the" Schedule An Appointment"  tab above if you are interested in initiating an appointment with Carly.

Lian Currie
M.Ed, LPC-R

Lian Currie

Lian is a Licensed Professional Counseling Resident (LPC-R) at the Master's level in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is currently in the application review process to become a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

Lian began her work in the college setting in 2017 as a student-affairs professional, where she developed a strong interest in young adult development and life-stage transitions. This interest led her to pursue a master's degree and licensure in professional counseling. In 2021, Lian started working at the University of Richmond's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) as an advanced graduate trainee. Eventually, she was hired as a part-time staff counselor and athletics psychology intern.

As a generalist, Lian works with clients who present a wide array of concerns. She has experience in treating anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, sports performance issues, and relationship concerns.

In her therapy practice, Lian strives to establish deep connections with her clients and foster an environment of trust and empathy. Lian's warm and compassionate nature, combined with her understanding of behavioral and neurobiological issues, allows her to assist clients in overcoming challenges and achieving their therapeutic goals. She believes in a holistic approach, taking into account not only psychological aspects but also the neurobiological factors that contribute to each person's experiences. By exploring the intricate interplay between biology and behavior, Lian empowers her clients to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Lian incorporates evidence-based therapeutic modalities in her practice, including Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and utilizes a feminist, systems-based lens to explore how social and cultural factors intersect with clients' experiences and empowers them to challenge identity-based disparities. Drawing from these approaches, Lian tailors her interventions to address the unique needs of each client, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences and find their own solutions. She helps clients develop psychological flexibility, cultivate values-driven lives, build emotional regulation skills and enhance interpersonal effectiveness, and guides clients in identifying and modifying unhelpful thought patterns. By seamlessly integrating these therapeutic approaches, Lian provides a comprehensive and client-centered approach to support individuals on their journey towards personal growth and well-being.
